Final preparations underway for Inaugural Lecture by Ed Miliband

We’re making final preparations in the Octagon Centre for the arrival of Ed Miliband and the official launch of SPERI tonight.

This event, which is full to capacity, is one not to be missed. If you didn’t manage to get a ticket, you’ll be able to watch a video of the lecture right here on our website over the next few days.

Co-director Professor Colin Hay, who founded SPERI with Professor Tony Payne, said: “We are delighted to welcome the leader of the opposition to Sheffield to open SPERI. His lectures comes at a time when the challenge to find a new growth trajectory for the British economy is more pressing than ever. This is the challenge to which all the political parties will need to address themselves before the next election and it is the core focus of SPERI.”

The national media are also covering the event so you may even catch a snippet of what Ed has to say on the news, or of course by following us on Twitter or Facebook.
