Not long to go now. We hope you are looking forward to the SPERI conference as much as we are!
Unfortunately, Lord Robert Skidelsky has been called to join a group of economists in Greece in July to advise political leaders on the crisis and obviously, in the present circumstances, we understand this is a task he must not refuse.
Instead, however, we are pleased to announce that Ann Pettifor has very kindly agreed to take Robert’s place and speak immediately before the conference dinner on Tuesday 17 July.
Ann Pettifor is the Director of Policy Research in Macroeconomics (PRIME), fellow of the New Economics Foundation and also a member of the SPERI International Advisory Board. The Times newspaper described her as “a member of that select club, the seers who saw it all coming.”
Ann is best known for her leadership of Jubilee 2000, a worldwide campaign to cancel approximately $100 billion of debts owed by 42 of the poorest countries.
More information about Ann’s writing and work is available on the the PRIME Economics webpage.
