Goodbye, Sarah; welcome, Laure

By Colin Hay & Tony Payne

Today we have to say a final goodbye in SPERI to Sarah Boswell who is moving to a new position as Research Marketing and Communications Manager in the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Sheffield.  Sarah became SPERI’s administrator even before the Institute was formally launched in February 2012 and ever since has been closely involved with all that SPERI has done.  She has found ways of getting to know everybody in the SPERI community and has brought her energy, charm and commitment to bear upon so many projects and tasks.  We shall miss having her at the heart of things in the SPERI office and are keen to take advantage of this post to pay public tribute to the enormous contribution that she has made to getting SPERI off to a good start.  Many, many thanks, Sarah.

Sarah is replaced as SPERI Administrator from next Monday, 7th April, by Laure Astill.  Laure comes to SPERI with a great deal of appropriate experience.  She has a first degree in European Studies from the London School of Economics and an MA in International Relations from the University of Nottingham.  She worked for five years as a researcher and then as publications, Events|News and web-site manager for The Centre for European Reform in London and Paris.  She has lately also set up a photography business.  Laure is very welcome at SPERI and you will all soon be hearing from her in one way or another.
