A new Handbook of the International Political Economy of Governance was published on April 25th by Edward Elgar Publishing Ltd. It was jointly edited by Tony Payne, one of SPERI’s Directors, and Nicola Phillips, Professor of Political Economy at the University of Sheffield.
It is a huge work designed to be bought mainly by libraries as an up-to-date collection of the very best new research that is being undertaken on the international political economy of governance. It is the first in a series of Handbooks of Research on International Political Economy to be published by Edward Elgar under the series editorship of Matthew Watson (University of Warwick) and Benjamin J. Cohen (University of California, Santa Barbara).
Amongst the many contributors to the new Handbook there are many who have links to SPERI. They include Colin Hay (SPERI’s other Director), Andrew Gamble (Chair of SPERI’s International Advisory Board), Andrew Baker, Valbona Muzaka (both Honorary Research Fellows at SPERI) and Andrew Geddes (Professor of Politics at the University of Sheffield).
