One of SPERI’s Directors, Tony Payne, was in Moscow on 19-20 May speaking at a conference on ‘Strengthening Global Summitry: Effectiveness and Legitimacy in the G8 and G20’. The meeting was organised by the National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE) in Moscow.
Tony’s presentation was entitled: ‘Governing the Global Crisis: Why the G20 was Formed and What We Still Need It to Do’. He was joined in Moscow by Andrew Baker, one of SPERI’s Honorary Research Fellows.
Other speakers at the conference included: Svetlana Lukash (Russian Sherpa to the G20), Alexey Kvasov (Presidential Experts’ Directorate), John Kirton (University of Toronto), Marina Larionova (HSE) and Dries Lesage (Ghent University).
