Andrea Genovese is a Senior Lecturer in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, and Head of the Operations Management and Decision Sciences Division at Sheffield University Management School. He joined in February 2010 as a Research Associate, subsequently working as a Lecturer.

Andrea holds a PhD in the area of Operational Research from University of Naples “Federico II”. His education also includes a MSc (with BSc) in Industrial Engineering and a Master in Business Administration (MBA). Prior to his PhD, he worked as Logistics Central Planner for a multinational enterprise operating in the tyres industry.

Andrea’s core research interests lie in the development and application of decision support methodologies in order to solve complex problems in the field of Logistics and Supply Chain Management, with particular emphasis on Environmental and Social Sustainability.

He has published papers in leading international journals (including Omega, International Journal of Production Research, International Journal of Production Economics, Expert Systems with Applications). He has been a committee member of several international conferences and has participated in research projects funded by national and international bodies.

Andrea delivers training and consultancy activities within the Logistics and Supply Chain Management (LSCM) Research Centre at the University of Sheffield.
