Mailing List

We collect your first name, last name and email address when you sign up to our newsletter. This information is stored with your permission, so that we can provide with updates on SPERI’s work, research and events etc.

Contact forms

We collect your name and email address when you contact us via the contact form on our site. This information is stored so that we can respond to your enquiry.


We use Google Analytics to collect information about how you use this website. We do this to help make sure the site is meeting the needs of its users and to help us make improvements, eg improving site search.
Google Analytics stores information about:

  • the pages you visit on this website
  • how long you spend on each page
  • how you got to the site
  • what you click on while you’re visiting the site

We don’t collect or store your personal information (eg your name or address) so this information can’t be used to identify who you are.

How long we retain your data

When you sign up to our newsletter

You’ll stay signed up to our newsletter indefinitely, but you may unsubscribe at any time, either by using the ‘unsubscribe’ link or by contacting us using the details at the bottom of this page.

We use Mailchimp software to store our mailing list and to send out our newsletter. Mailchimp is GDPR-compliant.

When you send us a message via a contact form

When you send a message to us via a contact form on this site, we’ll keep your message and any personal details associated with it for 14 days. This is to allow us time to deal with your enquiry. After this time, the data is automatically removed from our site.

When you sign up for an event

We sometimes use Eventbrite to manage registrations for SPERI events. Individuals have the option to sign up to the SPERI mailing list as part of their registration for SPERI events.

Access to your personal information

Individuals can find out if we hold any personal information, as well as request that this information is removed or amended, by making a ‘subject access request’. If we do hold information about you, we will:

  • give you a description of it;
  • tell you why we are holding it;
  • tell you who it could be disclosed to; and
  • let you have a copy of the information in an intelligible form.
