Georgette Fernandez Laris is a doctoral researcher in the Department of Economics. Her research analyses the social and well-being implications of financial innovation and the financial inclusion agenda primarily in emerging markets. Find out more about Georgette’s research here.
James Jackson is a doctoral researcher in the Department of Politics and International Relations. His research is centred around the barriers to decarbonising the automobile sector by developing national electric vehicle markets in the UK and Germany. Find out more about James’ research here.
Colin Hay, SPERI’s Director commented, “I want to thank Ed and Patrick for the fabulous role they have played as co-convenors of the DRN. With Remi and Charline they have contributed massively to making it so central to what SPERI does. I am delighted that Frank, Georgette and James are able to join them and confident that, working alongside Remi and Charline, they will continue with the great work of the DRN”.
The SPERI Doctoral Researchers Network was established in February 2019, to provide an academic and intellectual community for post-graduate researchers at the University of Sheffield who are working on questions that relate to SPERI’s four central research themes. It provides a space for research students across the university to come together and discuss how best to study and understand contemporary capitalism.
The new co-convener team are currently planning a new blog series and are making plans for the new academic year. If you are a doctoral researcher at Sheffield and would like to join the SPERI DRN please contact one of the conveners via their profile pages.
