Jonathan Perraton is Senior Lecturer in Economics in the Department of Economics. Before coming to Sheffield he was a research associate on the Globalisation and the Advanced Industrial State project at the Open University.
He has published on economic globalisation, the balance of payments and growth, political economy and economic methodology, including papers in the Cambridge Journal of Economics, International Review of Applied Economics, Journal of Economic Methodology, and New Political Economy. He is also co-author of Global Transformations: Politics, Economics and Culture (Polity Press) and co-editor of Where Are National Capitalisms Now? (Palgrave Macmillan).
His current research interests are in secular stagnation, European economic models and development under globalization – particularly the feasibility of social democratic economic strategies in small open economies. He is also a past co-ordinator of the Post-Keynesian Economics Study Group.
